Introduction to PowerBuilder
Database Painter
Up until now, you've been creating objects for the PowerBuilder application. However, without data source, the application would be redundant. So, in this session, we will be concentrating on connecting to/manipulating the database from a PowerBuilder application.
After this session You Will Be Able To:
- Create and maintain database tables, indexes and extended attributes.
- Define referential integrity constraints.
- Retrieve and manipulate data from the database.
- Export data into different formats from the database.
- Understand PowerBuilder's system catalog.
- Understand ODBC, configure ODBC data sources
- Able to create/configure/maintain native or ODBC specific database profiles.

Prerequisites:
- You should have PowerBuilder (Desktop/ Professional/ Enterprise version) installed on your computer.
- Adaptive Server Anywhere 6.0 or greater installed on your computer.
- Database background would help, however not necessary.
